Job summary

Time Personnel in Cape Town invites applications for a Junior Import and Data Analyst to support overseas orders, supplier communication, shipment tracking and import documentation. The role also involves stock administration and reporting, with training provided on systems and processes.

The candidate should be organised, analytical and accurate with strong Excel skills, attention to detail and good communication. 1–3 years’ experience and interest in imports or logistics are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Matric or related qualification.
  • 1–3 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with numbers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organised with good follow-up skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proactive, reliable and willing to learn.
  • Interest in imports, logistics, purchasing or data analysis.
  • Experience with Pastel/Sage, ERP systems, imports, logistics, stock control, Power BI or advanced Excel will be beneficial, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseas purchase orders and supplier communication.
  • Track international shipments and expected arrival dates.
  • Maintain import and purchasing records.
  • Check supplier invoices, packing lists and related documentation.
  • Assist with stock and purchasing administration.
  • Prepare sales, stock and product reports.
  • Analyse sales and inventory data using Excel.
  • Identify slow-moving stock, low-stock items and sales trends.
  • Assist management with reporting and data analysis.
  • Maintain accurate product, supplier and customer information.
