Job summary

Time Personnel is assisting a client in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, to recruit a Junior Import & Data Analyst. The role suits a data-driven graduate with at least 1 year of work experience who enjoys Excel and numbers and is interested in imports, stock and general business operations.

You will assist with capturing overseas purchase orders, tracking shipments, maintaining records, and preparing basic reports in Excel.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant work experience or graduate programme considered
• Degree/diploma in Commerce/Business/Logistics/Finance/Data Analysis or related field
• Good Excel skills and confidence with numbers
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly organised with good follow-up and time-management
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, reliable and willing to learn
• Interest in imports, logistics, purchasing, stock or data analysis
• Comfortable in a hands-on environment where priorities change
• Experience with Pastel/Sage, ERP systems, imports, logistics, stock control, Power BI or advanced Excel beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities

• Assist with capturing and updating overseas purchase orders
• Help communicate with suppliers and follow up on outstanding information
• Assist with tracking international shipments and expected arrival dates
• Maintain accurate import, purchasing and product records
• Assist with checking supplier invoices, packing lists and related documents
• Capture and update stock and product information
• Assist with preparing basic sales, stock and product reports
• Use Excel to capture, organise and review data
• Assist with identifying low-stock and slow-moving items
• Support the team with general reporting and data administration
• Ensure product, supplier and customer information is kept accurate and up to date
• Follow up on outstanding tasks and assist with general administrative and commercial support
