Job summary

Flash in the Western Cape, ZA seeks a Junior Financial Manager to own balance sheet reconciliations, assist with forecasting, variance analysis, and the monthly close process to ensure accurate financial reporting outputs.

You will also manage inventory, intangibles and PPE reporting in collaboration with business stakeholders, producing timely reports and strengthening internal controls.

Qualifications

• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of reconciling items.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the Quarterly reporting packs.
• Prepare budgeting and forecasting.
• Ownership of the fixed asset register.
• Assist in financial analysis of divisions.
• Inventory accounting and ownership of inventory related reconciliations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
• Liaise with the Financial Manager to improve monthly reporting packs.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Inventory and fixed assets.
• Handle queries and concerns related to fixed assets and inventory.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and introduce process improvements as necessary.
• Ownership of month-end and quarter close & consolidations.
• Statutory accounts, IFRS & regulatory reporting.
• SARS related submissions and tax calculations.
• Maintain and ensure compliance of documentation standards.
• Maintenance of financial controls & policies.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and disclosures.
• Monitor and apply changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with tax, legal, and audit teams to ensure disclosure alignment.

Job description

The role includes ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring integrity, completeness, and timely resolution of reconciling items. The incumbent will assist in forecasting and variance analysis to support business planning and decision making. They will also assist with the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and reporting outputs

In addition, the Junior FM will be responsible for ownership of the inventory, intangibles and PPE reporting space working closely with stakeholders of the business to produce reports and control
