Job summary

Network Contracting is seeking a finance professional to coordinate monthly reporting, budgeting and tax compliance. You will manage general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and provide accurate financial information for management.

The role requires IFRS knowledge, VAT experience, and strong Excel and ERP skills, with 3–5 years of relevant experience and a CA(SA) qualification being advantageous.

Qualifications

• BCom degree or related finance qualification.
• 3–5 years of finance/accounting experience, supervisory role beneficial.
• CA(SA) or equivalent is advantageous.
• Strong IFRS and tax/VAT knowledge.
• ERP and financial reporting systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end reporting, balance sheet, and month-end journals.
• Maintain general ledger reconciliations and classify transactions.
• Prepare half-year and year-end reporting packs and statements.
• Support audits and respond to audit queries and adjustments.
• Manage intercompany receivables, fixed assets, and internal loans.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Review corporate income tax obligations and VAT returns.
• Liaise with SARS and tax advisors as needed.
• Provide financial information for management presentations.

This role will support the coordination of finance activities and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for management and the broader Group. The position requires a technically strong finance professional with experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, tax and general accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the month-end reporting process, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations and month-end journals.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
• Prepare half-year and year-end reporting packs and annual financial statements.
• Provide support during internal and external audits, including responding to audit queries and assisting with audit adjustments and findings.
• Manage intercompany receivables, employee reimbursements, fixed asset verification and internal loan administration.
• Manage annual budgets and periodic forecasts, monitor performance and identify variances.
• Review corporate income tax obligations and prepare/reconcile VAT schedules and VAT returns.
• Assist with transfer pricing documentation and liaise with SARS and tax advisors when required.
• Prepare financial information and reports for management presentations and ad hoc requirements.

Job Experience and Skills Required

• BCom degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years' relevant experience in a finance/accounting role, including experience in a supervisory or functional/specialist capacity.
• CA(SA) or relevant professional qualification will be advantageous.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Experience with budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of South African tax, VAT and related statutory requirements.
• Understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and financial reporting systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and tax advisors.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
