Job summary

Helderberg Personnel CC is seeking a diligent service technician to diagnose, repair, and test equipment at client sites and in the workshop, aiming for a zero return rate. You will quote, inspect, perform on-site service, and handle workshop administration, while remaining available for after-hours standby. A Matric certificate and a basic electrical/electronic background help, and willingness to travel regionally with a valid licence.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate required; electrical/electronic qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 6 months hands-on electrical/electronic experience and strong customer service.
• Driver's licence with own vehicle and willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Repairs & Maintenance: diagnose, repair, and test equipment at client locations and in the workshop.
• Quoting & Inspections: inspect units, create service reports with photos, submit quotes.
• Customer Service & Client Sites: act as brand ambassador, provide prompt on-site service, assist with loading/offloading.
• Workshop & Admin: book machines in/out, tag IDs, complete logs, maintain stock accuracy.
• Standby & Call-outs: participate in scheduled calls and after-hours weekend standby duties.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Repairs & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and test equipment at client locations and in the workshop, achieving a zero-percent return rate. Carry out warranty repairs using designated vehicle spares.
• Quoting & Inspections: Inspect incoming units, generate accurate service/maintenance reports with supporting photos, and submit quote data to the Branch Lead.
• Customer Service & Client Sites: Act as a professional brand ambassador, delivering prompt on-site service, strictly following site procedures, and assisting clients with machine loading/offloading.
• Workshop & Admin: Book machines in/out, attach ID tags/POD documentation, complete daily log sheets/job cards, and maintain vehicle and workshop stock accuracy.
• Standby & Call-outs: Attend scheduled service calls and remain available for allocated after-hours and weekend standby duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Matric certificate. A formal electrical or electronic qualification is a distinct advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months hands-on experience in an electrical or electronic environment, paired with solid customer service experience.
• Licence & Mobility: Valid drivers licence with driving experience and own reliable vehicle. Willingness to travel regionally.
• Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Attributes: Strong verbal communication skills, presentable appearance, disciplined approach to tool and stock management, and high ethical standards
