Job summary

Metacom is seeking a Junior Field Application Engineer to join the Business Development team. You will support technical solutions, conduct testing, and provide level 4 client support while coordinating with engineering and customers to ensure successful implementations.

You will travel locally and occasionally internationally, stay current with product developments, and contribute to training, documentation, and after-hours support as required.

Qualifications

• A relevant Engineering/IT degree or diploma is required.
• MCSE and CCNA certifications are highly desirable.
• Solid knowledge of LANs and WANs.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
• Experience with UniFi products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal and client support for software, hardware, networking, and systems.
• Test new products and solutions across hardware, networking, software, and firmware.
• Fault finding on returned products and document results.
• Provide level 4 support to clients as required.
• Assist with product integration and field implementation.
• Develop and assist with technical documentation.
• Deliver training and handover on new products.
• Stand-by after hours for escalated support.

We are seeking a presentable candidate as a Junior Field Application Engineer to work within the Business Development team to support technical solutions and successfully implement them for our customers as well as providing level 4 support, product and solution training, testing and implementing proof of concepts and assisting with all new products and solutions. The successful candidate will be the link between business development, engineering, the customer and support.

Duties would include, but not limited to:

• Provide internal support to colleagues with the investigation of software, hardware, networking and system related problem on existing and new products or solutions
• Testing new products and solutions, including Hardware, Networking, Software and Firmware
• Fault finding problems on returned products and documenting the test results
• Providing level 4 support to clients as required
• Providing direct client support on functional software, hardware operations and networking solutions
• Provide and assisting with product integration and implementation in-field as required
• Creating and assisting with the composition of Technical Documentation
• Providing training and handover on new products and solutions
• Being on stand-by afterhours for escalated support queries
• Relevant Engineering / Information Technology Degree or Diploma
• Solid experience and understanding of LANs and WANs
• Minimum 3 years relevant working experience
• Valid driver's licence with own reliable transport
• MCSE certification
• CCNA

• UniFi Experience (UEWA Certified beneficial)
