Placements24 has a client in the industrial automation sector seeking a Junior Electrical Project Engineer in Tembisa, Gauteng. This entry-level role suits recent graduates or engineers with up to 3 years’ experience to support projects from conception to commissioning.

You will assist senior engineers with planning, schematics, and wiring diagrams, participate in site visits, coordinate with suppliers, and help with testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or project management.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and drafting standards; PLCs/basic understanding of control systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Support the development of electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Participate in site visits for inspections, measurements, and installation supervision.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems.
• Prepare project documentation, including progress reports and as-built drawings.
