Placements24 in Gauteng seeks a Junior Electrical Engineer with a focus on controls to join the Tembisa team. The role targets recent graduates and early-career engineers to design, program, and implement automated control solutions for industrial processes.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and gain hands-on exposure to diverse automation technologies. The position offers learning opportunities, a mentorship program, and a hybrid work arrangement with potential for growth in control

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
Solid understanding of control theory and automation principles.
Familiarity with PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMI software.
Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of control system architectures, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA integration.
Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMIs for various industrial applications.
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems on-site and remotely.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, functional specifications, and user manuals.
Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of control solutions.
Support senior engineers in analyzing system performance and identifying areas for improvement.
