Job summary
Placements24 in Upington is seeking a junior Electrical Engineer to join the Control Systems team. You will assist in designing electrical schematics for control panels and automation systems while learning PLC/ HMI programming and industrial automation basics.
Under supervision, you will wire and assemble panels, support FAT/SAT, collaborate with mechanical engineers, and build documentation as part of a structured development path.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Foundational knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with basic electrical installation and wiring practices.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical schematics for control panels and automation systems.
- Support the programming and troubleshooting of PLCs and HMIs under supervision.
- Conduct wiring and assembly of control panels according to design specifications.
- Perform FAT and SAT support.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and project teams to integrate control solutions.
- Learn and apply industry best practices in electrical design and automation.
- Maintain documentation for control system projects.
