Placements24 is seeking a Junior Electrical Maintenance Technician for our manufacturing client in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining electrical systems, diagnosing faults, and supporting senior technicians to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.

You will read schematics, assist with installations, perform preventative maintenance, and contribute to safety training while building core skills in an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• National Certificate (N3) or relevant technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related trade.
• 1-2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and practices related to electrical work.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and moderate exertion.
• Must be willing to work shifts if required by the operational needs of the plant.
• Valid driver's license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspection, testing, and repair of electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, lighting systems, and power distribution systems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule to minimize downtime.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and troubleshoot faults to identify root causes.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Assist in the installation of new electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures during maintenance activities.
