Placements24 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for an on-site role in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair complex machinery, and support installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Minimum of 5 years as Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues and perform timely repairs.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and maintenance manuals.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing facility in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, ZA , is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician . This on-site role is essential for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of our plant machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment failures, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. Key Responsibilities

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex machinery and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety protocols and a strong safety record.
• Must be able to work on-site in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, ZA , and potentially on a rotating shift schedule.
