Placements24 is seeking a qualified Industrial Maintenance Electrician for a facility in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on reliable operation of electrical systems, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining control panels and machinery, with strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman Electrician credential, 3–5 years’ experience, and hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and electrical schematics.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a key player in the industrial manufacturing sector, is seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician for their facility in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This essential role involves ensuring the reliable and safe operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of electrical components, control systems, and machinery. A strong understanding of industrial electrical codes and safety practices is paramount. Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical machinery and control panels according to schedule.
• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing instruments and techniques.
• Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Operate and maintain various electrical tools and testing equipment.
• Assist with the installation of new machinery and electrical systems.
• Respond to emergency electrical issues promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements

• Certified Journeyman Electrician qualification or equivalent trade certification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Electrician.
• Proven experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety principles and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and megohmmeters.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to on-call duties as needed in Nelspruit.
