About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior Developer with strong foundational knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, and front‑end development. You’ll collaborate with design, marketing, and operations teams to build high‑performing websites, landing pages, and web components. At EVG, we work across multiple client ecosystems — from WordPress and custom JavaScript builds to React and Vue front‑ends. You’ll get exposure to all of these stacks, guided on choosing the right stack per project. You’ll be mentored by a senior developer through regular code reviews, structured feedback, and collaborative builds. You’ll learn production‑ready coding practices, version control, and the workflow of a professional agency environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain front‑end components using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Collaborate with designers to bring Figma designs to life with clean, maintainable code.
• Work in WordPress, React, or Vue, depending on the client’s stack.
• Implement and debug API integrations, HubSpot automations, and analytics tracking.
• Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and responsiveness.
• Participate in pair programming and code reviews to improve your technical approach.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Basic understanding of DOM manipulation, event handling, and asynchronous JavaScript.
• Familiarity with version control (Git / GitHub).
• Experience with simple front‑end frameworks or libraries (React, Vue, or similar) is an advantage.
• Understanding of responsive design.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies in real‑world projects.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or equivalent self‑taught experience.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills (Bonus Points)

• Experience with HubSpot CMS or marketing automations.
• GSAP Animations Library.
• Knowledge of basic API integration (fetch, Axios, JSON).

Compensation

R 18,000 – R 24,000 per month (includes hybrid work flexibility, mentorship, and exposure to international projects).

Growth Path

You’ll start by building smaller components and campaign pages under close mentorship. Within a year, you’ll own full front‑end builds, explore new frameworks, and start contributing to automation and API‑driven workflows. Long‑term, this role can grow into Full‑Stack Developer or Technical Lead depending on your interests.

• 0–1 year: Junior Developer
• 1–3 years: Front‑End Developer (R 25,000 – R 30,000)
• 3–5 years: Full‑Stack Developer or Technical Lead (R 35,000 – R 45,000)
