We are looking for a wordsmith to join our team of passionate marketing professionals for a rapidly expanding national hotel group. This position is based in Centurion, Pretoria.

Reports to: Group Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager.

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Junior Copywriter is to create content by using the written word to share information about a client’s products, services, or industry, as well as to facilitate the content refinement of internal communication. Their duties include preparing document outlines, updating content based on client edit requests and proofreading their work for tone, style, clarity, grammar, and formatting.

Assignment and Planning of Work

The assignment and planning of work for this position is guided by the Group Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager. A high level of self-discipline and focus is required in order to meet deadlines though.

JUNIOR COPYWRITER DUTIES

• Produce content internally in order to minimize the cost of external resources
• Produce all content within specified targets and budgets

Process Perspective:

• The Junior Copywriter is responsible for style and format consistency across all projects and communication with team members to create the best content possible.
• Completing writing projects, meeting deadlines, and following content requirements in terms of style and project specifications.
• Helping to create style guides or suggesting changes to ensure content is consistent and clear.
• Conducting research on any given topic.

Customer

• Achievement of 95% against Internal Marketing Service Level agreement relative to copywriting.
• Working with customers to define their content needs
• Revising content whenever customers and clients request changes.

Technical Competencies, Education and Experience

• Recently completed diploma / degree in Copywriting or similar (preferably with Marketing Subjects / Background e.g., through Vega, AAA, or Red&Yellow Diploma)
• Exceptional creative writing skills
• Ability to write social media copy and content for digital advertising.
• Excellent copywriting for social media, blog posts, and email.
• Immaculate spelling and grammar coupled with accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and clients
• Proficient in using standard office software: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, etc.
• High-level understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
