Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a motivated Junior Chef to join a private game lodge in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal. This role offers the opportunity to develop culinary skills within a lodge environment while contributing to high standards of food preparation and guest dining experiences.

Key responsibilities include assisting with daily meal prep and service, preparing fresh dishes, supporting senior chefs, maintaining hygiene and food safety, managing stock and rotation, and ensuring presentation

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is advantageous.
• Culinary qualification is beneficial but not required.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily preparation and service of meals.
• Prepare fresh, high-quality dishes to lodge standards.
• Support senior chefs with menu preparation and execution.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Assist with stock control, storage and rotation of ingredients.
• Ensure dishes are presented to a high standard.
• Work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and kitchen procedures.
