Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a motivated Junior Chef to join a private game lodge in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal. This role offers the opportunity to develop culinary skills within a lodge environment while contributing to high standards of food preparation and guest dining experiences.

Key responsibilities include assisting with daily meal prep and service, preparing fresh dishes, supporting senior chefs, maintaining hygiene and food safety, managing stock and rotation, and ensuring presentation

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is advantageous.
• Culinary qualification is beneficial but not required.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily preparation and service of meals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their culinary skills within a lodge environment while contributing to a high standard of food preparation and guest dining experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with the daily preparation and service of meals.

• Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
  

• Assist with stock control, food storage and ingredient rotation.
  

• Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard.
  

• Work efficiently as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
  

• Follow recipes, portion control guidelines and kitchen procedures.
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen would be advantageous.
  

• A culinary qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
