Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper in Randburg, Gauteng. This entry-level role focuses on recording transactions, maintaining ledgers and assisting with financial reporting under mentorship.

You will gain practical experience with QuickBooks or Xero, Excel and standard bookkeeping tasks, while developing accuracy, organisation, and teamwork in a professional finance environment.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Experience with posting transactions, ledgers and basic financial reports is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions accurately using accounting software.
• Maintain general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers and journals.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and payroll as required.
• Assist with VAT and other tax submissions.
• File documents and maintain organised records.
• Respond to basic accounting queries and support senior staff.
