Job summary

JobFit Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant for an established accounting firm in Pretoria East. You will support senior staff with day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT calculations, and tax administration while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires proficiency in Pastel and Sage One, SARS eFiling, and fluency in Afrikaans and English. A matric certificate and 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting practice are expected, with growth opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

Matric certificate (Grade 12).
Accounting / Bookkeeping studies or equivalent advantageous.
Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
1–3 years’ experience in an accounting practice.
Computer literate.
Pastel and Sage One accounting packages experience.
Practical knowledge of SARS eFiling and procedures.

Responsibilities

Manage monthly bookkeeping and processing using Pastel and Sage One.
Handle general SARS queries and utilize SARS eFiling.
Assist senior accounting staff with financial and administrative tasks as needed.
Prepare and submit VAT calculations and VAT201 returns (advantageous).
File income tax returns via eFiling (advantageous).
