Job summary

Staff Solutions in South Africa is seeking a motivated junior bookkeeper who can handle functions from bookkeeping up to trial balance, supplier processing and basic payroll. The role requires a BCom degree with accounting and strong MS Office skills.

You will assist the financial manager, prepare VAT and dividends tax returns, monthly management packs and audit packs, plus basic payroll tasks and CIPC secretarial work.

Qualifications

• BCom degree with accounting subject.
• Recently graduated.
• Excellent computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience on account software packages would be advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, open plan office.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping up to trial balance.
• Supplier processing, reconciliations, and payments.
• Administration of municipal accounts, including queries and meter recons.
• Prepare VAT and dividends tax returns.
• Prepare monthly management packs.
• Prepare annual audit packs.
• Basic payroll and payroll taxes administration.
• Assist financial manager with various tasks.
• Review payment packs and monitor tax liability.
• Compile and review management packs.
• Basic CIPC secretarial work.
