Job summary

Accso seeks an experienced software engineer with a strong background in Java, JavaScript, Spring, Kotlin, and modern build tools. The role focuses on delivering robust backend services and REST APIs for diverse clients across Germany and South Africa.

You will work in an agile, collaborative environment, contributing to code reviews, performance improvements, and CI/CD practices to raise engineering standards. Flexible, modern offices and knowledge-transfer communities support growth.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science or a comparable discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience with listed technologies.
• Experience with agile methods such as Scrum or Design Thinking.

• You solve challenging software engineering problems in a wide variety of projects for well-known, large German and South African clients.
• You design, develop and implement robust software solutions by applying AI agent- based development methods and tools throughout the software development process.
• You design and build backend services, REST APIs and integration layers, applying object-oriented design principles and established design patterns.
• You work across all disciplines of software engineering.
• You write well-designed, testable, efficient and readable code that meets both internal and customer standards, and you deliver software that is thoroughly tested and debugged.
• You contribute to code reviews, performance tuning and CI/CD practices, and help raise the team’s engineering standards.

Your profile:

• You have successfully completed a university degree in computer science or a comparable discipline.
• You have at least 5 years of experience in professional software development, including hands-on experience with the technologies listed above.
• You enjoy working with agile methods such as Scrum or Design Thinking.
• You are proactive, pragmatic and team-oriented, with strong collaboration and communication skills and a drive for continual improvement.
