Job summary

Raubex Group Ltd is seeking a motivated IT assistant to support the Senior IT Technician in daily tasks. Based in Wadeville, travel may be required for various network and equipment matters.

You will handle user support, hardware/software troubleshooting, account management, and data security to ensure reliable IT operations across the site.

Qualifications

• South African citizen required.
• Grade 12 compulsory; IT qualification advantageous.
• 1–2 years IT support experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Windows 11.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to employees via phone, email, and in-person.
• Resolve IT issues and manage user accounts and access.
• Assist with data security and system reliability measures.
• Perform basic hardware/software setup and upgrades.
• Maintain documentation and support on Halo helpdesk.

The role includes providing technical support to employees, resolving IT-related issues, managing user accounts, and ensuring data security and system reliability. Based in Wadeville with travel as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Basic User support such as:
  • MS Office 365.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Software troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Device Setups.
  • Mobile support.
  • Remote & On-Site support.
• Network hardware installations and troubleshooting.
• Tracing, Labelling and Documentation of Existing Infrastructure.
• Searching and preventing upcoming problems.
• Work with IPT & Raubex Teams to solve or set up various network and system related matters.
• Stock takes & Equipment Tracking.
• Quotes & Procurement of various IT Equipment.
• Support on a Wide Variety of IT Equipment.
• Advanced User support including escalation to other teams when needed.
• Raubex helpdesk ticket tracking (Halo) and updating.

Minimum Qualifications

• South African Citizen.
• Grade 12 (Compulsory)
• A relevant IT qualification would be advantageous.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in an IT support role or similar technical position.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite and Windows 11.
• Practical experience with desktop and laptop hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical business users.
• Methodical and Logical approach.
• Valid driver’s license or in the process of acquiring one
