About the Role

Our client, a prominent leader in the agricultural technology sector, is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a transformative initiative focused on enhancing its core business systems. This role is critical in driving the strategic implementation of new platforms and the optimization of existing IT infrastructure to support business growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex IT projects, particularly those involving business process re-engineering and system integration. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from defining requirements and planning execution to managing budgets, resources, and stakeholder communications. This position offers a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on project execution within a dynamic and innovative environment. The role is based in the picturesque and agriculturally significant region of Paarl, Western Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects aimed at transforming business systems and processes.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
• Manage project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal IT teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive solutions.
• Oversee the implementation of new software solutions and the integration of existing systems.
• Ensure the successful adoption of new systems through effective change management and user training coordination.
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in IT project management.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects related to ERP, CRM, or other critical business system implementations.
• Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in using project management software such as MS Project, Jira, or Asana.
• Experience in change management and user adoption strategies.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
• Experience in the agricultural sector or related industries is a plus.
