Job summary

Postbank SOC Limited seeks a Head of IT Operations to lead production technology across infrastructure, cloud, databases and core banking dependencies in Pretoria. You will direct incident response, disaster recovery, and operational governance to ensure service continuity across payments, channels and branch services.

The role requires extensive experience in infrastructure operations, cloud platforms and banking technology, with a strong focus on security controls, privileged access, and audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering or related discipline (NQF Level 7).
• Certificate in Information Technology Service Management, Infrastructure Management, Cloud Infrastructure, Information Technology Operations or Business Continuity Management (NQF Level 6).
• Leadership Development Programme.
• 12+ years experience in the Information Technology industry.
• 10+ years experience in infrastructure operations, cloud operations, or related areas.
• 5+ years experience in banking technology, payments, core banking platforms or customer-facing technology environments.
• 5+ years experience in leading technology operations teams, vendors, service restoration and operational governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure, integration, database, cloud and production technology operations to maintain stable, secure and responsive banking services.
• Set operational priorities, standards and escalation procedures to meet availability, performance and recovery targets.
• Monitor performance, service trends and incidents to identify root causes and reduce repeat failures.
• Coordinate restoration of critical technology services to minimise disruption to customers and operations.
• Direct production support to maintain availability of banking platforms and customer-facing services.
• Ensure governance, IT controls and audit evidence for production activities.
