Merchant West in Durban is seeking a Business Development Manager – Investments to drive sales growth, expand client relationships, and promote Merchant West’s investment fund range.

Based in Durban with travel to Port Elizabeth and Pietermaritzburg as needed, you will engage financial advisers and institutional clients, tailor solutions to market trends, and lead presentations to grow assets under management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• A CFA, CFP, or equivalent certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 3–5 years in investment sales, business development, or financial advisory.
• Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks in South Africa.

Responsabilités

• Drive sales growth and expand client relationships.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within financial advisory and institutional investor sectors.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, financial advisers and wealth managers.
• Deliver presentations, workshops, and training sessions on Merchant West’s investment offerings.
• Provide market updates and collaborate with internal investment teams.
