Job summary

Merchant West seeks an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee a diverse client facilities portfolio in the Wes-Kaap region. You will monitor exposures, assess credit risk, and ensure compliance with credit policies while delivering high service levels to clients.

You will collaborate with across business units on deal execution, structure transactions, and identify opportunities to optimise the portfolio's performance and profitability for the bank and its clients.

Qualifications

• BCom with Finance and/or Mathematics; accounting as a subject.
• 4+ years in a client-facing financial role.
• Strong client relationships within the sector.
• Ability to interpret credit policies and governance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of client facilities.
• Track client exposures, repayment behaviour and portfolio health.
• Maintain strong client relationships and service delivery.
• Escalate risk concerns and recommend actions.
• Support deal structuring and portfolio growth.
• Prepare portfolio reports and maintain records.
