Job summary

Merchant West is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a client facilities portfolio, drive performance, manage risk, and uphold governance standards. You will monitor exposures, nurture client relationships, and collaborate with business units to support deal execution and portfolio optimisation.

The role requires a BCom with Finance/Mathematics and at least four years in a client-facing financial role. Strong analytical skills, credit policy interpretation, and effective stakeholder

Qualifications

• BCom degree with Finance and/or Mathematics.
• Accounting as a subject preferred.
• Experience in client-facing financial roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of client facilities to ensure strong financial performance and asset quality.
• Track client exposures, repayment behaviour, and overall portfolio health.
• Ensure portfolio performance aligns with risk and profitability targets.
• Support deal structuring and portfolio growth within the portfolio.
• Prepare and maintain portfolio reports for management.
