Job summary

The Recruitment Council is seeking an experienced, high-performing Business Development Manager to join their team in Rosebank. You will prospect, source, develop, and maintain a specialized Investment Intermediary portfolio, driving market share growth for retail investment solutions across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Honours-level financial qualification strongly recommended.
• CFP designation required.
• FAIS RE exam advantageous.
• 8–10 years in a financial distribution environment (ideally with LISP or Investment Management focus).
• Proven track record in supporting and developing Independent Financial Adviser practices.
• Deep knowledge of retail investments and the retail investment industry.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, source, develop and maintain a specialised Investment Intermediary portfolio.
• Drive market share growth for retail investment solutions across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
• Source and introduce new Intermediaries to the client’s platform.
• Support and collaborate with Broker Corporate and Independent Intermediary businesses.
• Grow and manage an Intermediary Portfolio to meet annual sales targets and profitability.
• Ensure intermediaries comply with FAIS, FICA and POPIA regulatory requirements.
• Develop and execute a business plan covering sales volumes, education, marketing and digital platform usage.
• Coordinate SLAs with internal and external stakeholders.
• Train Intermediaries and their staff on investment solutions (Local, International, Structured, Guaranteed).
• Facilitate the use of digital strategy tools and e-initiatives.
• Provide accurate investment, product and investor information.
• Identify intermediary needs regarding technical information, technology, and reporting.
• Support investment projects and marketing campaigns.
