Job summary

Maersk Tekstiel Warehouse in Cape Town is seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee daily inventory operations, maintain accurate records, and lead a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will be responsible for implementing and optimizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS), coordinating with staff, and ensuring compliance with HSSE standards. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in inventory management and strong analytical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Supply Chain, Inventory, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a multi-principal warehouse environment.
• Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in inventory management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily inventory operations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and documentation of inventory items.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile with financial statements.
• Conduct regular audits and stock counts, including quarterly wall-to-wall counts and weekly cycle counts.
• Identify and address inventory discrepancies and implement inventory management procedures.
• Be a super user on the current WMS and ensure stock alignment between DC and clients WMS.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor to assign personnel for receiving, storing, and dispatching inventory.
• Monitor storage space and optimize layouts for efficiency.
• Implement and manage the WMS to streamline processes and train staff.
• Generate and analyze inventory reports and KPIs; communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE protocols and relevant regulations.
