Job summary

Execustaff South Africa (Pty) Ltd in Gauteng invites a procurement and inventory planner to join our production-support team. You will plan long-lead spare parts six months ahead, coordinate supplier lead times, and generate weekly buying reports to avert shortages.

Responsibilities include daily stock checks, updating product group codes every four months, refreshing SKU levels every six months after branch sign-off, generating forward-order reports, and traveling to assembly and fabrication

• Generate weekly buying reports to address production and SKU shortages.
• Perform daily inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Update the ABDC product group code every four months to reflect movement trends.
• Verify and update SKU levels every six months after branch manager sign-off.
• Create forward order buying reports to assist supplier planning.
• Ensure accuracy checks are completed before releasing any buying reports.
• Travel to assembly and fabrication locations as required.
• Support stock takes by preparing reports and reconciling results.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• All inventory purchased from foreign suppliers need to be planned 6 months in advanced, for all long lead time spare parts for the production schedule, this allows for sufficient time for supplier lead times and shipping lead times
• Weekly buying reports need to be generated to cater for production shortages as well as to cater for SKU replenishment and sales shortages
• Performed daily inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring uninterrupted production flow and timely fulfilment of operational requirements
• The updating of the product group code (ABDC Analysis) will be updated every 4 months to ensure that the correct inventory for the correct movement trends is catered for. This will lower the risk of planning and purchasing inventory that might result in dead or slow-moving stock
• SKU levels will be updated every 6 months for production, after the product group code has been updated. SKU levels will need to be verified and updated only after signature as been received from Branch managers/HOD from the relevant locations. Updating of the SKU levels will ensure that the correct inventory is purchased as well as lower the risk of dead or slow-moving stock
• Forward order buying reports are generated and processed to assist suppliers with planning of inventory on the supplier side.
• Ensure that when generating any form of buying report that it is processed accurately and that all relevant checks are put into place before buying reports are released to the procurement department
