Job summary

Our client in Johannesburg, Gauteng, seeks an Inventory Data Analyst to support inventory management and supply chain operations through accurate data analysis, reporting, and forecasting. The role is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of inventory control or analytics experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. Diploma/degree in supply chain is preferred, with a focus on data-driven inventory optimization.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data/analytics certification is an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience with inventory or ERP systems.
• 1-3 years’ experience in inventory control, reporting, or supply chain analytics.
• Inventory replenishment experience and understanding of inventory data management concepts.
• Database management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan six months of advance inventory purchases for long lead time parts.
• Generate weekly buying reports for production shortages and SKU replenishment.
• Perform daily inventory checks to maintain stock levels and production flow.
• Update ABDC analysis and SKU levels every 4–6 months as needed.
• Minimize risk of dead or slow-moving stock through proper planning.
• Update SKU levels after branch manager/HOD approvals.
• Prepare forward order buying reports to assist supplier planning.

Our esteemed client is a well-respected company who has been manufacturing machines locally since 2012 and supplying them to mines across the country and beyond the borders branching out further into Africa. Our client prides itself in the ability to offer a full suite of underground mining equipment of the highest international standards.

An incredible opportunity is now available for an Inventory Data Analyst to support inventory management and supply chain operations through accurate data analysis, reporting, and forecasting. The position is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Job Responsibilities:

• All inventory purchased from foreign suppliers needs to be planned 6 months in advance, for all long lead time spare parts for the production schedule, this allows for sufficient time for supplier lead times and shipping lead times.
• Weekly buying reports need to be generated to cater for production shortages as well as to cater for SKU replenishment and sales shortages.
• Performed daily inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring uninterrupted production flow and timely fulfilment of operational requirements.
• The updating of the product group code (ABDC Analysis) will be updated every 4 months to ensure that the correct inventory for the correct movement trends is catered for.
• This will lower the risk of planning and purchasing inventory that might result in dead or slow-moving stock.
• SKU levels will be updated every 6 months for production, after the product group code has been updated. SKU levels will need to be verified and updated only after signature has been received from Branch managers/HOD from the relevant locations.
• Updating the SKU levels will ensure that the correct inventory is purchased as well as lowering the risk of dead or slow-moving stock.
• Forward order buying reports are generated and processed to assist suppliers with planning of inventory on the supplier side.
