Job summary

K2 Recruit Pte Ltd invites a Financial Controller to lead daily operational finance in a stock-intensive environment. You will own month-end, manage a small team, oversee inventories, and collaborate with the CFO to drive financial accuracy and cost control in a hybrid role at V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.

The candidate will have 4+ years in finance, strong inventory and COGS knowledge, and experience with cash-flow forecasting and multi-currency concerns.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Financial Controller or similar operational finance role.
• 4+ years' relevant experience, depth preferred over years.
• Inventory accounting in stock-intensive or manufacturing environments.
• Practical understanding of COGS, stock adjustments, write-offs, returns and reconciliations.
• Experience with cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management.
• Experience supervising junior finance staff.
• Strong understanding of debtors, creditors, VAT and banking.
• Attention to detail with ownership and accountability.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close process and meet deadlines.
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and close reviews.
• Review GL, income statement, balance sheet; prepare journals and provisions.
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasts and working capital.
• Oversee inventory accounting, stock movements and reconciliations.
• Coordinate VAT info and statutory reporting for SA and UK entities.
• Calculate and validate sales commissions.
• Maintain Sage Intacct and drive process improvements.
• Lead and coach a small finance team; stay hands-on when needed.
