Placements24 is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for our Midrand, Gauteng operations. You will maintain accurate inventory records, optimise stock levels, and enforce control procedures in a hybrid role combining on-site and remote work.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma in Logistics/SCM and at least 3 years in inventory control, with experience in SAP/Oracle/WMS and Excel for analysis and reporting. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP/Oracle/WMS and MS Excel for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and system reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy, security, and efficiency.
• Monitor stock levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate inventory availability while minimizing excess stock and carrying costs.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Work with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper storage, handling, and movement of inventory.
• Generate regular reports on inventory status, turns, valuation, and accuracy for management review.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of inventory management software (WMS/ERP).
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards related to inventory management.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing distributor of industrial supplies, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for their Midrand, Gauteng operations. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and working closely with procurement and logistics teams. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance between on-site warehouse activities and remote data analysis and planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management systems. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related supply chain role.
• Proven experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS) and proficient use of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting methodologies, and ABC analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting in Midrand, Gauteng.
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to inventory when required.
