Introduction
We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and detail-oriented Inventory & Stores Manager to take responsibility for the effective control and management of our Stores and inventory function within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock levels, system integrity and full traceability of stock movements, while ensuring that materials and components are available to support production requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise Stores staff and daily Stores activities.
- Maintain accurate stock control and traceability.
- Oversees and Oversee stock receiving, issuing, allocation, verification and transfers.
- Ensure physical stock movements accurately correspond with system transactions.
- Monitor Works Orders, Allocations, WIP and Stock Verification processes.
- Identify and follow up on stock shortages, discrepancies and outstanding Works Orders.
- Maintain appropriate re-order levels and prepare stock reports.
- Stock takes and Cycle counts.
- Ensure accurate and controlled documentation and filing.
- Maintain good housekeeping, stock identification and organised warehouse areas.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions where required.
- Liaise with Procurement, Production and other departments to ensure smooth stock flow.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a Stores/Warehouse/Inventory Management role.
- Proven ability to manage and supervise a team.
- Strong understanding of stock control, inventory management and warehouse processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and traceability.
- Experience working with Pastel or similar ERP/inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to monitor and enforce procedures and company policies.
- Good problem-solving and discrepancy-investigation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / quality management systems would be an advantage.
Package & Remuneration
- Salary: R15,000 - R25,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience
