STOREMAN

Location: Kempton Park
Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 per month
Start Date: Immediately
Contract: 6-month contract, with potential for permanent employment based on performance

Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable and organised Storeman to support the Service Department with the receiving, storage, handling, packaging and dispatch of parts, tools and equipment.

The successful candidate will maintain an organised and safe warehouse environment, ensure accurate handling of stock and support field service and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

Despatch

• Prepare and despatch parts and tools to field service personnel and branch offices.

• Prepare parts for customer sales and internal requirements.

• Coordinate local and international courier collections.

• Prepare faulty parts for repair and return processes.

• Ensure parts are correctly packaged and documented for shipment.

Receiving

• Receive parts, tools and equipment from field service personnel, suppliers and branch offices.

• Check incoming parts and advise relevant departments of receipts.

• Unload new parts shipments delivered by freight and courier companies.

• Use pallet jacks and overhead cranes where required and authorised.

Warehouse & Stock Control

• Maintain a clean, neat and dust-free warehouse.

• Ensure correct storage and labelling of spare parts and service tools.

• Conduct part relocations as required.

• Source and maintain suitable packaging materials.

• Maintain proper storage practices in line with applicable safety and material handling requirements.

• Safely dispose of waste and scrap.

Equipment & Safety

• Conduct quarterly inspections of service tools and ladders for safety records.

• Coordinate annual inspections of overhead cranes.

• Conduct inspections of pool vehicles as required.

• Maintain knowledge of appropriate storage requirements for goods and materials.

• Follow all company health, safety and housekeeping procedures.

General Support

• Assist the Sales Department with the unloading of machinery and equipment.

• Assist with repair-and-return processes, including tagging, fault information and packaging.

• Provide cover for the Stores General Clerk when required.

• Liaise with service, sales, finance, field service and customers as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 – essential

• Previous warehouse or stores experience will be advantageous.

• Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
