Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment is seeking an Internal Sales Manager to lead the internal sales team in Boksburg. You will coach staff, assist customers, and manage quotations, orders, and key accounts to achieve branch targets.

The role requires a 3–5 year internal sales background within a technical/engineering environment and solid ERP/Excel skills. A Diploma in Sales or related field is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 is required.
• Diploma in Sales, Business Management or a technical qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3-5 years internal sales experience.
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience leading or supervising an internal sales team.
• Proven experience achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.
• Strong technical product knowledge.
• Computer literacy including Excel, Word and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the internal sales team by example through active involvement in daily sales activities.
• Motivate and coach the sales team to achieve monthly sales targets and service excellence.
• Assist customers telephonically and in person with product enquiries and technical advice.
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Review and approve quotations where required.
• Assist with key quotations and high-value enquiries.
• Follow up on quotations to maximise conversion into sales.
• Process customer orders when required during busy periods.
• Resolve customer complaints and escalated queries promptly.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
• Monitor daily sales performance and encourage the team to achieve branch targets.
• Oversee the accurate processing of customer and factory orders.
• Keep customers informed of order progress and delivery dates.
• Ensure quotations, sales orders and customer records are accurate and up to date.
• Prepare weekly and monthly internal sales reports for branch management.
• Work closely with stores to ensure stock availability for customer orders.
• Identify fast-moving and slow-moving products to support sales opportunities.
• Drive a positive, energetic and customer-focused sales culture within the branch.
• Coach and mentor the internal sales team on product knowledge, selling techniques and customer service.

  • Assist with pricing
