Job summary

Skillsgro in Durban is seeking an Internal / Key Accounts Broker to manage a portfolio of approximately 300 clients through proactive underwriting, client service and administrative support. The role is office-based with no external client visits and requires a minimum of 2 years underwriting experience in personal and commercial lines, RE5, and a strong focus on communication, negotiation and retention.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) and RE5 certification are required.
• Minimum 2 years underwriting experience in personal and commercial lines.
• Experience in a brokerage environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Client Portfolio Management: manage ~300 clients and communicate proactively about needs.
• Premium & Payment Management: monitor unpaid premiums and liaise with insurers to resolve issues.
• Policy Renewals & Retentions: renewals, terms, and retention strategies; conduct risk assessments.
• Policy Endorsements & Amendments: process changes to cover and client details; maintain records.
• Underwriting & Quoting: perform risk assessments and provide quotations from multiple insurers.
• Client Engagement: conduct at least 25 client consultations per day via Zoom/phone.
• Additional Duties: cancellations, tracking devices, valuation services, refunds, regulatory compliance.
