Job summary

Placements24 partners with a well-established financial institution in Kimberley to recruit an Internal Audit Manager. Based on-site in the Northern Cape, you will lead the internal audit function, develop annual plans, and drive risk management and governance improvements.

You will manage and mentor a team of auditors, oversee financial, operational, and compliance audits, and communicate findings to senior management and the Audit Committee.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIA, CISA, or equivalent is essential.
• Minimum 6–8 years of internal audit experience with 2–3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Significant experience within the financial services industry is required.
• In-depth knowledge of auditing standards (e.g., IIA Standards), COSO, and risk management principles.

• Develop and implement the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessments and business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of internal auditors, ensuring high-quality audit execution.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial services regulations and a proven ability to manage audit teams and engagements. Requirements

• A professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIA, CISA, or equivalent is essential.
• A minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in internal audit, with at least 2-3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Significant experience within the financial services industry is required.
• In-depth knowledge of auditing standards (e.g., IIA Standards), risk management principles, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Strong understanding of financial services regulations in South Africa.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in audit management software and data analysis tools.
