Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or related field.
• CIA/CA(SA)/CISA or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum 7 years in internal auditing, with 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual internal audit plan, based on a comprehensive risk assessment.
• Lead and manage the internal audit team, providing guidance, training, and performance reviews.
• Conduct audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes, evaluating the adequacy of internal controls.
• Identify risks, control weaknesses, and operational inefficiencies, and recommend practical solutions.
• Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive audit reports for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of management's action plans to address audit findings.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices in internal auditing, and relevant regulatory changes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to facilitate audit process and enhance buy-in.
• Ensure audit work complies with professional standards (e.g., IIA Standards).
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the company's risk management framework.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CA(SA), CISA, or equivalent is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in internal auditing, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of auditing principles, techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with various ERP systems and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple audit projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Experience working within the KwaZulu-Natal region or a similar industrial landscape is advantageous.
