Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle property insurance claims promptly and fairly.
• Conduct thorough assessments of damage to properties, including site visits when necessary.
• Interpret policy wordings and conditions to determine coverage and liability.
• Gather and document all relevant evidence, reports, and statements related to a claim.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders and third parties.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims activities within the company's claims management system.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalates suspicious claims for further investigation.
• Provide guidance and support to policyholders throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Liaise with loss adjusters, contractors, and legal representatives as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Claims Assessor or in a similar claims handling role within the insurance industry.
• Proven experience specifically with property insurance claims.
• Strong understanding of insurance principles, policy wordings, and claims procedures.
• Excellent investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with claimants.
• Proficiency in using claims management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage a caseload effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site inspections within the Tembisa, Gauteng area and surrounds.
• A relevant qualification in Insurance or a related field is advantageous.
