Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to support plant operations in Randburg. The role focuses on maintaining accuracy and reliability of process control systems, calibrating and upgrading instruments, and improving safety and efficiency.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, participate in new system design, and provide training to operators and maintenance staff in a hands‑on environment with real impact in an energy facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering with relevant coursework.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial instrumentation and control systems experience.
• Experience with process instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and calibration equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems and tuning methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, and repair process instruments, transmitters, and control valves.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for instrumentation assets.
• Assist design and implementation of new instrumentation and control systems.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of a wide range of instruments and control loops.
