Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Technician for a Queenstown facility. The role focuses on installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.

You will work with sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems, interpreting P&IDs and diagrams while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Artisan (Instrumentation/Control) or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years in industrial instrumentation and control.
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, and industrial networks.
• Strong troubleshooting and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with safety procedures in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain instruments (sensors, transmitters, valves).
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on I&C equipment.
• Work with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, including configuration and basic programming.
• Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control loop diagrams.
• Ensure safety and quality compliance.
