Job summary
Placements24 seeks a skilled Instrumentation and Control Technician for an industrial operation in Vereeniging. The role focuses on maintenance, calibration, and repair of critical instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.
You will work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and implement upgrades to automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- National Diploma or N6 in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Experience with calibration equipment and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of industrial instruments, including transmitters, sensors, valves, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control system malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Assist engineers with the implementation and testing of new control strategies and system upgrades.
