Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join their Mossel Bay operations team. This hands-on role focuses on maintenance, calibration, and repair of advanced instrumentation and electrical systems to ensure reliable plant operations.

The ideal candidate will have a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control, proven experience in an industrial setting, and strong diagnostic and safety skills.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control.
• Proven experience as an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, P&ID diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibrators.
• Understanding of safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of various instruments, including pressure transmitters, flow meters, and control valves.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, control panels, and associated equipment.
• Install and commission new instrumentation and electrical systems according to specifications.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with all plant safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration results, and spare parts inventory.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and operational issues.
