Job summary

EdUpStairs in Pretoria seeks a Labour Relations professional with three years of relevant qualification in Labour Relations, BCOM Law or LLB. A valid driver’s licence is essential to perform inspections and investigations across sites.

You will conduct occupational inspections, draft reports, and contribute to statistics on allocated cases while promoting compliance with labour legislation. This role requires knowledge of major labour acts and active engagement in advocacy campaigns.

Qualifications

• Three years relevant qualification in Labour Relations, BCOM Law or LLB.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures and key labour acts (LRA, BCEA, UI Act).
• Familiar with Employment Equity Act and related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational inspections to ensure compliance with labour legislation.
• Execute investigations on cases of contravention of labour legislation and enforce when necessary.
• Conduct proactive Blitz inspections to monitor compliance with labour legislation.
• Conduct advocacy campaigns on identified and allocated labour legislation.
• Assist in drafting inspection plans, reports and statistics on allocated cases.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Conduct occupational inspections with the aim of ensuring compliance with all labour legislations.
• Execute investigations on reported cases pertaining to contravention of labour legislation and enforce where and when necessary.
• Conduct proactive (Blitz) inspections regularly to monitor compliance with labour legislation.
• Conduct advocacy campaigns on identified and allocated labour legislation.
• Assist in drafting of inspection plans, reports and compilation of statistics on allocated cases.
