Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a prominent heavy industrial equipment manufacturer in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on designing power generation machinery, performing stress and thermal analyses, and delivering robust mechanical solutions.

You will collaborate with manufacturing and project teams to ensure feasibly designed components and assemblies meet safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• At least 6 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience in power generation or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
• Strong CAD/FEA proficiency and manufacturing awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components for power generation equipment using CAD.
• Perform stress, thermal, and vibration analyses.
• Create and maintain design drawings, specs, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure production feasibility.
• Lead design reviews and communicate proposals to stakeholders.
• Stay updated on materials and design methods in mechanical engineering.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and safety regulations.
