Our client in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. You will design, develop, and test components for power generation equipment, focusing on turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, extensive CAD/CAE experience (Siemens NX, CATIA, ANSYS, Abaqus), and a collaborative approach to delivering robust, efficient, and safe energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in mechanical design engineering, rotating machinery or power equipment.
• Proficient in CAD/CAE tools and materials science knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and analyze mechanical components and systems for power generation equipment.
• Use CAD/CAE tools for 3D modeling, FEA, and CFD analyses.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and serviceable.
• Document designs, specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive prototypes testing.
