Job summary

Placements24 in Rustenburg, North West, seeks an experienced Information Security Architect to design and oversee the organization’s security infrastructure. You will build secure, scalable solutions and guide projects through secure development and lifecycle integration.

You will shape security standards, evaluate technologies, conduct threat modelling, and mentor teams while staying current with industry trends and regulatory changes impacting information security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in information security with at least 3–4 years in architecture or design roles.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale security solutions.
• Deep knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2).
• Expertise in network security, cryptography, IAM, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and application security.
• Strong SDLC and secure development practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
• Certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF are highly preferred.
• Experience serving North West region is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect comprehensive security solutions across network, app, data, and cloud security.
• Develop and maintain security architecture standards and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and platforms to meet needs.
• Conduct security reviews of IT projects to ensure policy alignment.
• Collaborate with IT operations, development, and business stakeholders to integrate security.
• Develop threat models and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on security architecture to project teams.
• Stay current with industry trends, threats, and regulatory changes.
• Document security architecture designs, processes and standards.
