Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Plant Engineer for an on-site role in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will oversee daily plant operations and maintenance, implement preventive programs, and lead capital projects to improve productivity and safety.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering background with 7+ years of plant experience, CMMS proficiency, and strong leadership and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years in plant engineering, operations, or maintenance in industrial setting.
• Experience with CMMS and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Strong safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong project management and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of plant equipment and systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Manage maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, and contractor activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams for process improvements.
• Conduct inspections to identify hazards or deficiencies.
• Analyze plant performance data and generate reports on key metrics.
• Lead or participate in capital project initiatives for upgrades/expansions.
• Provide technical guidance to operators and maintenance staff.
