Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking an Industrial Operations Engineer to optimize day-to-day production, improve efficiency, quality and safety. You will analyze processes, implement improvements, and support the operations team in meeting targets on the plant floor.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years in manufacturing, strong Lean, 5S, Kaizen experience, and proficiency in production scheduling and data analysis using MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial/manufacturing engineering role.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools like MS Excel and database software.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to work effectively on the factory floor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production activities, identifying and resolving operational issues promptly.
• Analyze production data to pinpoint areas for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
• Implement process improvements based on lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with maintenance and quality control teams to ensure equipment reliability and product standards.
• Train production staff on new processes, procedures, and safety protocols.
