Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Upington operations. You will diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes and other mechanical systems to ensure reliable uptime.

Qualifications include a trade qualification in mechanical maintenance and demonstrated ability to work independently in an industrial setting. The role offers tools and safety equipment, with opportunities for skill development and career

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage maintenance schedules.
• Good physical condition for demanding industrial environments.
• Trade qualification or certification in mechanical engineering or maintenance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs on industrial mechanical equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and inspect for wear.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and identify root causes.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Ensure safety standards and company procedures are followed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts and time.
